Hint:
"If you ever plan to motor West
Travel my way, take the highway, that's the best..."
That's RIGHT! Our Challenge steps will take us from Chicago to L.A. via Historic Route 66!!

Here are some tid-bits you can use at your next cocktail party:

On the FIRST DAY of the Challenge, we collectively logged nearly HALF A MILLION STEPS!!!!
HALF A MILLION!!!
Heading South along Route 66, one of the first gems that we see is the town of Lincoln, IL. This is the ONLY city in America named for Abraham Lincoln BEFORE he became President. Lincoln covers 6.4 square miles and has 14,284 (2013) people. By comparison, Rutland CITY is 7.6 square miles and has 16,495 (2010) people. MOST interestingly, however, is that Lincoln, IL, is home to the WORLD'S LARGEST COVERED WAGON! Measuring 24'H x 12'W x 40'L with 10' front and 12' rear wheels, it weighs 5 tons. Our day ends near the town of Glenarm, IL, a suburb just south of Springfield. Get some sleep!
